Weather KwaZulu Natal

KwaZulu Natal mostly has hot and wet summers (September – April) and mostly dry, but mild winters (May – August). In Durban the temperatures ranges from 16 to 25º C in winter and during the summer months temperatures range from 23 to 38º C.

The Sea Temperatures are mostly stable and bathing is possible throughout the year, thanks to the warm Mozambique current flowing along the coast.

North of Durban and along the coast the conditions are subtropical – very hot days and humid nights. Inland there is a dramatic drop in temperature, especially with the rise of altitude. The Drakensberg rises to above 3000m and it snows multiple times every winter.
